Why Preserve Farmland?
**NEW** Logo Contest
"The care of the earth is our most ancient and most
worthy and, after all, our most pleasing responsibility.
To cherish what remains of it, and to foster its
renewal, is our only legitimate hope."

| COMING THIS FALL!
Mark your calendars for the Fall 2008 PFPA Workshop, to be held Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 23, 2008, at the Union County Office, 155 North 15th Street, Lewisburg, PA!
NOTE!!! There is a “Parent Weekend” at the local college the following weekend, so hotel rooms may be in short supply. If you think you may be able to attend, it might be a good idea to go ahead & reserve a room now.
A block of rooms are on hold at the Best Western in Lewisburg for $99/night (Queen/King-size beds.) This hotel is about 3 miles away from the Union County Office / meeting location. Call the hotel at 570-524-5500 and mention you are with “Farmland Preservation” to reserve one of these rooms. The Best Western rooms must be reserved before October 8th! They will not hold them at the $99/night rate after that.
More information will be posted at a later date.
PFPA Scholarship – We’re waiting to hear when the American Farmland Trust National Conference will be held in 2008, so stay tuned for Scholarship information.
Membership Form – Try not to wait until the day of the meeting to become a member! We would like to hand out a complete, up-to-date membership listing at the workshop, and want everyone included! (Questions? Call Cindy Sanderson, Adams County Information Coordinator, at (717)337-5859 or email her at csanderson@adamscounty.us).
